Since I was a kid, I knew I wanted to be an author. Growing up with Road Dahl’s whacky books, the Magic Treehouse series and other childhood classics, I always thought I would be a novelist. Then I discovered comics and realised I sucked slightly less at drawing than fiction writing, which changed the course of the way I will create forever.
All this to say that two decades later, with my quarter-life crisis and the desire to make my family proud of me out of my system, I am finally making my dreams come true: working on publishing my first graphic novel. It’s not actually an office romance (sorry to disappoint) but that’s what I love to call the one and only coloured drawing from the story so far, which I’ve just made the homepage cover of this website. So thought I’d explain what it is here.
The story does take place in an office though, and it deals with the disillusionment that comes from dedicating most of your waking hours to something inherently meaningless, soul-sucking and dreadful. It also features monsters and nonsensical architecture.
More details coming out soon.
